Quick! Call Castle!

Well, I am up to season 5 on Castle on my rewatch. In fact, I just finished the Hunt episode earlier. I have to say while I do like that we get to meet Castle’s dad, I don’t consider him to be a father or a “dad” so to speak. Yes, he’s kept tabs on his son but he didn’t actively raise him. Now, don’t get me wrong he seems to be a good guy. He did contribute DNA to Castle but really to this point that’s it. I am not saying this makes him a horrible person. Not at all. He just made a different choice to raising or being actively involved in his son’s life. I get that he couldn’t be because you know spy. I do hope that someday Castle does get to spend some quality time with his dad. Maybe there’ll be a time when they can do father and son stuff together and get to know each other. Not sure I am really going much of anywhere with this topic. Just wanted to say my piece on that.

I’ve been thinking about Castle (I mean Rick Castle not the show in general) and Nathan Fillion. My thoughts have rather been on my lack of attraction to both the fictional character and the actor himself. It’s just not there at all. Ever. Not as himself, not when he’s playing Castle, and not when I watched him as Mal in Firefly. He’s a good actor. I just am not attracted to him at all. He doesn’t do it for me. I am not sure why but he doesn’t.

Only about a week and a couple of days until I am no longer working the overnight shift. I am very happy about this. Happy I get to join the people who are awake during the day. Happy that I’ll have more human interaction. Happy that I’ll get to watch Castle live. I still think it’s kind of funny that I am going from being able to watch my shows with the exception of Castle when they air to able to watch Castle when it airs but nothing else. I am not even close to kidding. That’s it. That’s the only show. I don’t watch my Sunday night shows when they air because boyfriend time. It’s still going to be that. Sunday and Monday are my days off. So, Castle on Monday. Everything else the morning after from the DVR. I am half entertained and half kind of sad about this because I was really looking forward to watching Bones and Gracepoint on Thursday nights.

That’s it for this outing.

Television Show This and Television Show That

I will no longer be able to watch Gracepoint at the time it airs come Thursday nights in the autumn. My shift for work is changing due to changing programs within the company I work for. The program I am currently working in is closing at the end of July. I am really not going to go into it.

I still will be watching Gracepoint. It’ll just be the morning after it’s aired (along with Bones). Now, the thing is that’s the way it’s going to be for all my shows that air Tuesday through Saturday (because Doctor Who will be airing on Saturday’s when it returns and I will be working during it’s air time). What I have noticed is that I will finally get to watch Castle live on Monday nights. It’s like I get one or the other. You know either getting to watch the other shows that air during the week live or watching Castle live on Monday nights. I can’t have it all. Though I wouldn’t have it all anyway because I don’t watch Once Upon a Time and The Mentalist live due to spending time with the boyfriend on the weekends. I admittedly did get to see Doctor Who live sometimes on Saturday’s when it was airing series 7 because boyfriend and I have done stuff later in the evening so I was at home.

Right anyway, I was talking about Gracepoint. I am bummed about not getting to watch it live because David Tennant. Not that it’s going to stop me from catching up. Okay, now I am repeating myself. It seems some people are still having a negative reaction to the first episode of Gracepoint looking and sounding familiar to Broadchurch. I can’t do anything about that but maybe at some point they’ll realize that episode one of Gracepoint is written by the person who created Broadchurch. That man named Chris Chibnall. Or realize at some point that it has in fact been indicated that there’s going to be differences. But let’s move on, shall we.

A highlight is The Librarians is filming in the city I work soon. As in this week. It’s that television show that’s being made for TNT. I didn’t realize they were filming the show here in Oregon. I guess Dean Devlin really likes it here. Maybe there’s another reason. I can’t say I follow Dean’s interviews and what not. If someone has an answer he’s actually given for returning to Portland, OR (seasons 2-5 of Leverage were filmed here) please feel free to share in the comments. Right, so it does make me excited. I know that Grimm also films here. I have never watched Grimm though. I have to admit from afar it seems like the type of show I would be interested in but I’ve never had an overwhelming desire to check it out for some reason.

Okay, I just read the summary of Grimm on IMDB it definitely sounds interesting. Maybe I should check it out. You know once I finish Game of Thrones which for some reason has been on hold for awhile. Or when I finish my rewatch of Castle.

We’ll leave this post here.
